Our Approach
Balanced and Compassionate Training
We are balanced trainers, meaning we use positive reinforcement and gentle corrections to guide and shape dog behavior. We train dogs based on what our evaluation of the dog tells us, our client’s needs and goals, and what the dog shows us in the training process. Each dog is different and requires a different approach, and our goal is to make sure we use the best and most effective approach for each dog. We only train dogs with the most up-to-date and proven techniques that will yield the best results for each dog.

After completion of any obedience dog training program through BZ Dog Training, our clients have access to our group classes for the life of their dog(s). These classes are typically on the 1st weekend of the month, but please check with your trainer to get the exact dates.

E-Collar Off-Leash Training
In addition to traditional training methods, we offer specialized e-collar off-leash training to further enhance off-leash skills and responsiveness in dogs; providing a reliable and safe means of communication for dog owners.

Zelestia Velasco
Meet BZ's owner/trainer, Zelestia!
Since childhood, Zelestia has always been fascinated by animals. She pursued Zoology in college and, although she did not complete her degree, gained valuable knowledge and experience during her studies. After moving to Cleveland, she met her partner and adopted her dog, Jasper. Jasper struggled with severe human and dog aggression, which inspired Zelestia to deepen her understanding of canine behavior.
Driven by this passion, she began working at a local dog training facility as a cleaner and gradually worked her way into a kennel technician and dog walker role. During her time there, she gained hands-on experience as a handler and developed practical skills working with dogs of varying temperaments and needs.
After relocating to Colorado, Zelestia continued her career in dog training at another local facility, further expanding her experience with a wide variety of breeds and behavioral challenges. Her goal is to help owners build stronger, healthier relationships with their dogs through understanding, communication, and trust.

Brooklynn Pogue
Meet BZ's owner/trainer, Brooklynn!
Brooklynn has always had a strong passion for dogs. At the age of 6, she was introduced to dog training trough a 4-H program for obedience. She started training her family Dachshund and went on to receive multiple titles! This ignited her long life-long spark for dog training. She quickly pursued her dream and began as a kennel tech at boarding facilities and sprouted her wings with leading and mentoring students and staff.
Brooklynn has helped hundreds of dogs and their families live harmonious lives together. She keeps craft up to date by attending seminars, workshops, both locally and throughout the nation.
She shares her home with her three border collies Aniyu, Aleu, and Pryzm.
Brooklynn currently competes in agility, dock diving, barn hunt, fastcat, and more. Her passion and dedication will help you achieve all your training goals with your pup!

She didn’t want to get in the car and once we got her in, she was very anxious. Walks were stressful for Evie and I. She would push into me, go between my legs, and jump on me. After the 2- week program, she is so much more relaxed in the car and walks are more enjoyable for the both of us! Brooklynn and Zelestia also worked with her on staying on a place bed, which is helpful when you have guests over. They worked with her on noise and nail trim desensitization.
